Gloria is the Founder of Semperviva Yoga and the Director of Yoga Teacher Training at Semperviva Yoga College. An Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (ERYT 500) at the 500 hour level with Yoga Alliance, she is one of the most influential forces of yoga in Canada. Her passion for yoga has led her to open five Semperviva Yoga Studios in Vancouver, and to create uplifting and transformative retreats and teacher trainings on Galiano Island and the island of Kythira in Greece.
Gloria is one of those rare teachers who engages her students on a deeper level that is both powerful and profound. She is more than just a yoga teacher. She is a teacher of joy. A teacher of life. Woven throughout her teachings is always the wisdom that encourages her students to take control of their own lives. Not only are her classes designed to detoxify, cleanse and strengthen on a physical level; they work equally as powerfully on a mental and spiritual level to destress, provide clarity, embrace one’s personal and individual challenges and to let go of the unnecessary clutter.

After attending regular classes – or the 200 hours of teacher training with Gloria, students experience multifaceted personal and physical transformations taking place.
Gloria’s personal studies have spanned all styles of yoga with some of the world’s finest teachers including Gurmukh, Mark Whitwell, Rolf Gates, Shiva Rea, Dharma Mittra, Sarah Powers, and Annie Carpenter.
She is adept in all yoga styles but is most passionate about Kundalini yoga because the benefits of the practice are immediate. Gloria’s Kundalini yoga classes are a dynamic, powerful, fast paced and effective form of yoga that produce quick results. She combines the raw energy of an upbringing in Greece with the traditional disciplines of yoga to create a style that is her own personal trademark.
Benefits of her classes include relief from stress and insomnia, enhanced creativity, lymphatic cleansing, liver detoxification, balancing the heart and mind, weight control and developing will-power. Practice will stimulate the nervous system, glandular system and the immune system as it centers the mind and opens the spirit.
“ My favorite place to practice yoga is on my island home of Kythira, Greece. It is my dream to continue to take students to this magical island so they can experience the power of yoga, combined with the rugged passionate, raw energy of the Greek Islands for a truly transformational experience.”
