Using Mantras To Calm, Uplift & Energize

If you’ve been practicing yoga or you’ve been on my email list for a while, you’ve probably heard of mantras; you may have even used them in your practice.

For example, you might repeat the mantra Sat Nam to yourself (Sat on your inhale and Nam on your exhale) throughout a class, in order to help you focus on your breath and reach a more peaceful, meditative state.

But what do these mantras actually mean? And what gives them power?

That’s the topic of today’s short video.

You may be surprised to hear that I’m not actually a fan of the literal translations of these words. I find they often miss the mark.

Instead, we’re going to focus on the energy of the words and the effect they have on you and others. You may even start to think differently about the language you use in your day-to-day life after you watch this!

How Long Should You Meditate For?

Have you ever wondered, “How long should I meditate for?”

I get this question all the time. The answer is: it depends on the results you are looking for!

Meditating for different lengths of time will have different effects on your circulation, brain activity, and nervous system – as well as impacting your chakras, intuition, and more.

I share more about this in today’s short video. Plus, I’ll tell you my favourite way to make sure I fit meditation in every single day… no matter how busy things get!

If you’re like me, and you have a pretty erratic schedule, it may take you a little while to get into a rhythm with this, but the benefits will be profound.

I challenge you to try it for just one week – and then report back and let me know what you experienced!

Breaking Habits + Building Abs Of Steel

I talk a lot about habits and addictions because we ALL have bad habits we fall into when we’re not feeling our best…

You may even have a habit you’ve been trying to kick for years, without success.

In today’s short video, I’ll share a powerful technique you can use to strengthen your will, build courage and break bad habits FAST.

This pose is one of my non-negotiables that I do every day.

At their root, addictions are behaviors we use to try and stuff down uncomfortable feelings. Whether it’s food, alcohol, cigarettes, or even social media – it’s what you turn to when you want to “numb out.”

Kundalini Yoga teaches that your greatest suffering doesn’t come from your problems, it comes from resisting WHAT IS.

So if you’re ready to face what you’ve been resisting – and build abs of steel in the process –today’s video is for you.

How To ‘Workout’ Your Inner Self

Did you know that Kundalini Yoga can ‘workout’ your inner self as well as your physical body?

For example, there are practices that can help you:

– Detoxify your liver or kidneys
– Release emotion that’s stored in your body (like anger or resentment)
– Strengthen your nervous system

And that’s just the beginning!

In today’s short video, I’ll share how Kundalini Yoga can help you decrease stress hormones and keep you looking younger longer by shifting you out of “fight or flight” and into your natural state of relaxation.

Another huge benefit of this shift is that you’ll start making better life choices. The more calm and clear you are, the greater the impact this will have on your life.

are you ready to relax and unwind?

On Shortcuts + A Walking Meditation

The more fast-paced our lives become, the more tempting it is to want to find shortcuts and “life hacks” for everything…

Believe me, I get it. I’m busy too!

The truth is, there’s no shortcut when it comes to yoga and meditation.

But one of the things I love most about Kundalini Yoga is that it has so many fast-acting, tried-and-true methods that can really transform your life.

I share one of my favourites in today’s short video…

If you want the benefits of a yoga and meditation practice, but you’re feeling strapped for time, you’ll love the technique I share in this video.

It’s a walking meditation that you can do while on the treadmill – or anytime you can get a few minutes to take a stroll around the block.

Here’s how it works…

I look forward to hearing what you experience!
