Left unchecked, a bad habit can easily become an addictive behavior – whether that be too much TV, too little sleep, overworking, or over-indulging in some way.
The thing about addictive behaviours is that they effectively “numb” us out, so we are less present in our own lives. They may feel satisfying in the moment, but in truth, they are robbing you of the richness of experience that’s available to you.
I’ve been sharing a lot of breathing + meditation techniques on my Facebook page lately because I want you to find the one that feels right for you. This is one of my favorites because it’s just so effective.
Do you ever find yourself feeling stressed out or wound up – and you can’t seem to relax, no matter what you do? In yoga, we say that your rate of breathing and your state of mind are inseparable.
So, if you calm your breath, you calm your mind… But that can be easier said than done!
In today’s video, I want to share a specific technique that can really help with this. It creates predictable effects on your brain and your glandular system (which vary depending on the number of “segments” in each breath).
Before I tried yoga for the first time, I was super resistant to it…
I had a mental picture of what people who do yoga were like – calm, serene, flexible – and that was NOT me. I was high-strung, couldn’t sit still, and I definitely wasn’t flexible!
What I didn’t know then was that there are styles of yoga that suit everypersonality type… and that yoga can take you from feelingmaxed out to serene very quickly.
In today’s short video I share a little of my story – plus one of my favourite meditations to help you de-stress and prevent burnout.
When I watched my first-ever 15 minute yoga video (and did the practices), it felt like I was finally breathing life back into my body… life that I’d allowed my chronic stress levels to squeeze out of me.
I want this for YOU too. Watch today’s short video to experience your very own reset.
We all know that making a real & lasting change takes discipline.
But what if I told you there was something else required… something even more important? And that when you master this step, everything else becomes easier?
It’s actually simpler than you might think… However, it will require a willingness to look deeply into yourself. Think you’re up for that? Ultimately, to change your life, you have to master your mind.
Kundalini Yoga provides a roadmap, with transformational practices that really work… in as little as a few minutes each day.
When I discovered Kundalini Yoga, my life looked great from the outside (successful career, loving family), but inside I was in chaos. I was anxious and exhausted all the time, and on the verge of burnout.
Can you relate?
Or perhaps you’re fighting with your spouse, struggling financially, or trying to bounce back from an illness. Whatever you’re going through, I want you to know something important:
Life is full of challenges, but suffering is optional.
You CAN experience a sense of inner calm & peacefulness, no matter what’s going on externally in your life. Really!
This isn’t just some catchy yoga quote – I’ve experienced it in my own life, and seen the changes in thousands of my students over the years. I urge you to try this life-changing practice before you get to that point of “something HAS to change.” And if you’re already there, it’s not too late.
